’tis the season to be
This morning when I woke up, rolled over and turned on the Minnesota Public Radio station, it told me that it was 10 degrees (F) outside. Fortunately, my bed is toasty underneath the down comforter. The high today is supposed to be 22 (F) (or -6 C), which will feel balmy compared to this morning.
I’m a bit of a weather geek, so I hopped online this morning to see what the temps are in other cities I’ve lived in:
Lithuania: 41 F (or 5 C) and rainy (springtime!)
Washington, DC: also 41 F (or 5 C), but no rain (this was the most moderate climate I lived in)
Westford, VT: 27 F (-3 C) that’s more like the winter I know
Again, I ask myself, why do I continue to live in such cold climates? I still have no good answer, except that usually people I care about draw me to these places. I just love living near my brother and sister-in-law now (and the kids). Do you think I could convince them and Justin to move to a state with slightly less severe winters where there are also some beautiful mountains to block the wind?
And as always, I have the space heater running under my desk at work.
On other seasonal news, I’m enjoying the feel of the holidays in the air. I’ve got my Christmas tree up, full with lights and decorations. I’ve purchased a few more candles since they seem to warm things up with their glow. Pandora is running all day long on my computer at work; listening to the holiday stations. I’m just hoping for lots of snowfall in the next few weeks. We need to cover up the gray and brown and try out snowshoeing!
Oh, and of course, the annual airefare deals with SAS are happening now! Check out their Christmas Calendar!

Racine, WI: 21 F
Upland, IN: 17 F
Phoenix, AZ: 57 F
I don’t like winter.
I’m so glad you keep reminding us readers about the SAS sale. Someday, I’m going to book a ticket. But not this year…
we’d follow : )
