bite-size ideas for light-green living
I would say that I do many eco-friendly things in my life, but I know that I hardly scratch the surface of what is possible. My family has been composting as long as I can remember. It feels strange not to do it in my rented house. Maybe I can get the landlord to let me do it…? Anyway, I recently found a website called Ideal Bite that gives free, bite-size ideas for light-green living. It’s a lot of very practical things you can easily do. One idea I got in my email a few weeks ago was what to do with old towels. Give them to animal shelters! They use them all the time for bedding. Then, they usually have some related factoid. Here’s the one for the towels:
If 10,000 Biters take three used jackets to an animal shelter, we’ll keep the weight of 258 adult male Great Danes in materials out of landfills.
You can just search their website, but you can also sign up for daily tip emails. Check them out and pass it on!
